Quarter Review
During the 3rd quarter of 2017 the European Central Bank kept its main refinancing rate unchanged at the level of 0.00%. Interbank rates (3-month Euribor) remained at the level of -0.33%. In Greece, interbank rates remained unchanged. During its semi-annual sovereign rating review, the rating agency Fitch upgraded Greece’s rating by two notches to B- from CCC, with a Positive Outlook. The credit agency notes that the upgrade reflects the belief that debt sustainability will steadily improve, underpinned by on-going compliance with the terms of the Greek program, reduced political risk and the sustained GDP growth. Fitch upgraded also the four covered bonds of Alpha Bank, National Bank and Piraeus Bank to Β from B-, following Greece’s credit rating upgrade. In the third quarter of 2017 the yields-to-maturity of three-month Hellenic Republic Government Treasury Bills (GTBs) dropped at the level of 1.91% and that of six-month GTBs at 2.40%. The fund’s quarterly return was 0.39%.
