Asset Management for Institutional Investors conference

Alpha Asset Management M.F.M.C. was a Gold Sponsor of the Asset Management for Institutional Investors conference, an international event that provides insights into the latest trends and developments in institutional asset management.

The conference was organized by the Institute of Finance and Financial Regulation (IFFR) and attracted many international participants.

Panagiotis Antonopoulos, Vice President and CEO of Alpha Asset Management M.F.M.C., chaired and moderated the discussion on 2025 Outlook for Traditional and Alternative Investments, while Christos Bossolis, Investment Director, participated in the roundtable discussion on Advances in the Asset Management Industry, highlighting several key points regarding the current economic and investment landscape.

Mr. Bossolis noted:
"Under the Trump presidency, we might see a divergence between rhetoric and actual policies, with tariffs being a major source of uncertainty. He pointed out that the trends of deglobalization and onshoring reflect a strategic shift in U.S. economic policy. The high concentration of the U.S. equity market in a few mega-cap companies, which trade at elevated valuations, poses risks for future returns of market-cap-weighted indices, suggesting that investors should prioritize diversification and selectivity. Cryptocurrencies are extremely volatile and offer more of a leveraged beta exposure than reliable diversification, making them less suitable for conservative investors.
Looking ahead, the success of asset managers will depend on disciplined, research-driven processes, effective risk management, and the ability to adapt to technological advancements in a rapidly changing world. Embracing innovation will be crucial for staying competitive in the next decade".
